The Best Toaster Oven in 2020

The reasonably priced Panasonic FlashXpress excels in the manufacture of toast, cookies and frozen snacks. In our tests, he cooked food evenly and did not generate any hot spots that would otherwise cause inconsistent toasting. Impressively, it provided faster than most of the other models we tested. With about 1 cubic foot of volume, it takes up very little counter space, but is still large enough to fit four pieces of bread or two slices of leftover pizza. We believe that Panasonic is the best for people who just want to use a toaster oven for toast or other small jobs, such as preparing a handful of frozen snacks. For larger tasks, consider getting our other selections, the Cuisinart Chef’s TOB-260N1 convection toaster oven or the Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven, which contain nine and six pieces of bread, respectively. I really love about this toaster oven is the price and how well built it is for the price it’s 150 bucks we found it for about 90 on Amazon and it’s just super affordable it’s one of the least expensive ones we tested and it just consistently outperformed or at least as good as the other ones it is a really well built machine but it also has some really wonky design that some people will love and some people will kind of hate so you know up here it has this strange sort of temperature gauge that’s set for Fahrenheit and Celsius it looks kind of like one of those old AM FM tuners on your radio you have the Celsius down here and the Fahrenheit up here but it’s actually calibrated just for Celsius another thing that’s kind of wonky about this design is that it only goes up to 25 minutes on the timer so if you need to cook something for longer you have to come back and check and then bump up the time again the Panasonic flash Express is really really easy to use I particularly love the presets that they have because they work really consistently on usability something that might present a bit of a challenge is going off the presets so if you’re not making toast frozen pizza frozen waffles because this isn’t a convection oven or traditional toaster oven it actually uses double infrared heating so it cooks a lot faster if you have a box it says on the instructions to cook something for half an hour it might be closer to 22 minutes or maybe even less so you’re going to have to kind of play around with it and see what works best for you let’s talk a bit about performance now this toaster stacks up really well against the others as far as performance it consistently performed as well if not better than all of the other ones so overall this Panasonic flash Express toaster oven with double infrared heating is a complete winner consistently does a great job and it’s cute and quirky at the same time so it’s great for CNET I’m Megan Willerton and this is the Panasonic flash Express.

The large Cuisinart Chef convection toaster oven (TOB-260N1)offers almost all the capabilities of a full-size oven. It provides uniform heat to up to nine slices of bread and can easily handle a 13-inch frozen pizza or a whole roast chicken (while our other selection, the Panasonic FlashXpress, can fit only a handful of frozen snacks). Cuisinart’s three-year warranty is outstanding, as are its impressive accessories, which include a pizza stone. Like Panasonic, this toaster oven was one of the fastest to preheat to 350 ° F in our tests. Since it is so large (it measures approximately 20.5 by 13.25 by 11.25 inches), we recommend this model for larger homes that have ample space for a large countertop oven.

The Breville Smart Oven BOV800XL, a 1,800-watt convection toasterwith the company’s Element IQ technology, is a large, medium-sized model that is more compact than our Cuisinart selection but larger than the Panasonic FlashXpress. We were impressed by their ability to maintain a set temperature better than most of their competitors. Do not toast as evenly as the Cuisinart, but bake cookies and melt the cheese well. Compared to the Panasonic, the Breville has a more modern and intuitive interface. However, it is more expensive, lacks an oven light and does not offer a pizza stone like Cuisinart.

The economical Hamilton Beach 31401 toast is better than any other toaster oven under $ 100. This simple model lacks many of the features included in our other selections, such as digital controls and preset cooking functions, but heats up evenly. Its humble size makes it ideal for kitchens with limited counter space, but its oven cavity is still large enough to fit four slices of bread. The Hamilton Beach works cooler than other models we tested, so you should increase the temperature by 25 degrees when baking or roasting. However, we believe that this is a forgivable inconvenience considering its low price.
